My Little Graduates!

That's right! Two of my beautiful babies have graduated from school this year!! Brooklyn from Kindergarten and Austin from 3 year old preschool. I can't even tell you how much Brooklyn LOVED Kindergarten. Oh my gosh it has been the highlight of her little life. She has made some wonderful friends, loved her teacher, has learned so so so much and has become quite the little smarty pants around here. Kindergarten is a great way to start out "real" school because it kind of eases them into it. They are separated from the rest of the school kids so they have their own little gated area with a playground that they go into and their classroom doors are right inside of their so it makes it way easy for them. And on top of that it's only a half of a day so from 12:10 from 3:30pm..which is nice but kind of a pain because it's right in the middle of the day and gives me no time to go run errands in the morning or afternoon. That was a little tricky to figure it out but we worked it out. Anyways, 1st grade here we come! All day long, big kid entrance, and bus rides with the big kids. I'm a little nervous about it but at the same time I have such good friends around here that have kids a little older then Brooklyn that already look out for her so much so that makes me feel so much better. She's super excited and already asks every day when school starts.
My little Austin man LOVED pre-school. If any of you know him, you know he's full of fire and one busy boy so this was perfect for him. I had just had Dru before school started so it was SO SO good for him to have something just for him and him only. To get praised for things that he did and someone focusing just on him. We have the BEST pre school teacher in the world and Austin LOVES her. Ms. Kelly has been a good friend for a long time so that helped, but honestly she is such a good teacher and I am so grateful for all she did for my little boy this past year. We had been in the same ward for a long time, when I was doing daycare, it was her cute kids that I watched. Austin became bestest buddies with her little boy and it was kind of funny because they were the ONLY little boys in the whole 3 yr. old class and loved it! Austin is a smart kido and knows all of this letters, sounds, colors, numbers and is already noticing words that are short and have just a few letters. He learned LOTS of new songs, one of which we sing every night before bed. " Hannah had the Hiccups." Preschool has been awesome for him and we can't wait for 4 yr. old preschool to start next fall!
Being a teacher is A TON of work and I am so super grateful to all of those hard working teachers who put so much time into their job to help my kids learn and enjoy their education process. I have come to learn while my kids are getting older how much I want them to excel in school and learn as much as they possibly can, and it's because of those awesome teachers they have done so well so far. Watching your kindergartner read a book to you for the first time is an amazing thing..amazing.
My babies are growing up! I can't believe I have a kid in grade school...wow! Keep it up kidos, Mom and Dad are so proud of you!!

Brooklyn's class had the cutest little graduation
program where they sang these adorable songs
and at the end threw their hats in the air just like
we did in high school, it was so cute.

Austin and Ms. Kelly. LOVE HER!
